“That’s a great idea. We’ll all work on it together.”

“And I can keep the shop open all summer and into the fall.”

Brad squeezed her hand. His eyes looked misty.

“Maybe we could go somewhere warm in the winter for a few weeks,” he said. “After Christmas, when we close the shops for the off season.”

“I’d like that,” Olivia said.

Brad reached across the table and gently pushed a stray strand of her hair from her cheek. She leaned against his hand.

“How late is the store open tonight?” she asked.

“We close at ten. Want to get a late supper afterwards? Stay at my place? Tell me what the hell happened in Howland?”

Olivia nodded. She looked around the busy room. “Do you need me to stay here and help out?”

Brad held Olivia’s eyes. “Always.”

They stood and walked to the coffee bar, their arms wrapped around each other.
