“You won’t get mugged, and it’s insured in case you misplace it.” He laughed and brushed his fingers over her face. “I guess it’s a little ostentatious, but I wanted it to be a symbol of how much I love you. I actually thought it was small when I compared it to how I feel about you.”

She drew her gaze from the brilliant ring to look into his vibrant eyes. “I don’t need a diamond the size of Texas to know how much you love me, Seth. I can see it in your eyes and feel it in your touch. I hope you’ll never doubt my love for you.” She couldn’t keep the tears from falling as she reached for a sobbing Emily and pulled her close. “We’re finally a family and that’s all that matters.”
