God of Heaven, God of Earth, God of Angels, God of Archangels, God of Patriarchs, God of Prophets, God of Apostles, God of Martyrs, God of Confessors, God of Virgins, God Who hast the power to give life after death and rest after work, because there is no other God than Thee and there can be no other, for Thou art the Creator of all things visible and invisible, of Whose reign there shall be no end, we humbly prostrate ourselves before Thy glorious majesty and we supplicate Thee to deliver us from all the tyranny of the infernal spirits, from their snares and their furious wickedness. Deign O Lord to protect us by Thy power and to preserve us safe and sound. We beseech Thee through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

From the snares of the devil deliver us O Lord, that Thy Church may serve Thee in peace and liberty, we beseech Thee to hear us. That Thou wouldst crush down all spiritual enemies of Thy Church, we beseech, Thee to hear us.

Father in Heaven, thank You for all Your blessings seen and unseen, for Your mercy and love. Fill us with Your peace and let us go forth day by day to sow love where love does not thrive. Amen.

(The ritual is now ended. Sprinkle holy water in the place.)

Deliverance Prayer

(This is a shorter deliverance prayer to be said room by room, after the modified Leo XIII ritual of exorcism has been read at the site of demonic activity. It is also effective when read over oneself or another or in one's home to drive away the effects of witchcraft, psychic attack or demonic activity.)

*   *   *

Defend us O Lord with Your Holy Name from all the powers of darkness; protect us with Your holy angels from the attacks of the evil one; and from the malevolent wishes, wicked knowledge and psychic attacks of our brothers and sisters who do his work either intentionally or through ignorance; help us to refuse and rebuke all evil in Your Name.

In the Name and by the authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, by the power of His Precious Blood, strengthened by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, of St. Joseph, of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Rafael, of the Angel of Gethsemane, of all the choirs of angels, of the holy Apostles Peter, Paul, John, Jude, and the other Apostles, of St. Benedict, St. Maur, and all the Saints: We adjure (†) and bind (†) all spirits not in worship to the Holy Trinity that they may no longer exercise dominion (over myself) (over
person's name
) (over this place or land and all the people and creatures who dwell in this place or land) (†).

We plead the Blood of Christ against you evil spirits, and by its power seal all spirit entry points or portals (†). In Jesus' Name we command you and all spirits of any kind not in worship to the Trinity to harmlessly depart now, lest God rebuke you; in the name of Dominus depart (†). We bind you by the Precious Blood never again to obey those who sent you, never again to hurt or cause to be hurt any of God's creatures nor ever to return even through recognition, invitation or command. In Jesus' Name we negate and harmlessly disperse all evil sent by the human servants of darkness (†). May the Holy Spirit extinguish all the evil and illness they've sent to: (myself) (this person
name
) or (the people or creatures living here).

May the angels of peace come in to protect us, and to propel any earthbound human spirits to God's loving light.

O Father in Heaven—in Jesus' Name so be it.

*   *   *

After a home has been cleared from all evil, then it is wise to establish an invisible spiritually protective fence around the property; approximate a rectangle on the land.

Starting at point “A,” bury a blessed religious medal at least six inches in the ground and recite the following prayer composed by Pope Leo XIII and formerly said after the traditional Latin mass:

*   *   *

“Saint Michael, defend us in battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and other evil spirits, who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.”

*   *   *

Then walk from point “A” to point “B” saying this prayer as you walk. When you reach point “B,” again bury a blessed medal in the ground. Then say the prayer again at this spot and as you move to the next point. After you have buried a medal at point “D,” walk from “D” to “A” before closing the fence. In an urban setting, use holy water in place of medals and the four corners of a block as your points.

Before leaving the home of a family that has suffered through a negative supernatural experience, you may choose to use one of the following blessings, before the final blessing of St. Maur is given over the family.

*   *   *

For a person:

(Bless him/her with holy oil or water and touch the person with a relic while saying):

We heal this child of God in body-mind-spirit in Jesus' Name, and surround him/her with the Light of Christ Risen in Glory.

*   *   *

For an animal:

(Bless it with holy oil or water and touch it with a relic while saying):

In the Name of Jesus, we heal this creature of God in body and spirit, and restore it to the authority of God.

*   *   *

For a place:

(Sprinkle holy water and blessed salt)

In the Name of Jesus, we bless and restore this place to the authority of God.

*   *   *

For an object:

(Touch with holy oil or holy water)

In the Name of Jesus, we bless and restore this object to the authority of God.

Prayer of Renunciation

This is used when a person has renounced his/her baptism and made a pact with the Devil or one of his fallen spirits; this is said prior to the blessing of St. Maur.

I (
person's name
) renounce Satan, all his works, all bargains, oaths or agreements made with him, and all wicked practices and beliefs; and I revoke and recall all evil wishes, words, thoughts or deeds with which I have sinned against God and injured my brothers and sisters. I say this without any mental reservations or deception.

*   *   *

(If a satanic pact was made, the person must renounce it word for word, or as close as possible, three times. Then he or she should say the following prayer):

Jesus mercy, I invite you into my life and offer you my mind, body, soul, will; teach me to pray and fill me with the Holy Spirit so I may love you and my neighbor as myself. Amen.

“All praise to God the Father Be, and to His Son eternally with equal glory as is meet to God, the Holy Paraclete. Amen.” (Benedictine Hymn)

Blessing of St. Maur

Blessing of St. Maur over the sick with a relic of the True Cross or a properly blessed medal of St. Benedict is an ancient prayer. In the early Church it was used for healing and also as a form of exorcism.

The blessing requires two beeswax candles to be lighted, unless, of course, open flames are prohibited, such as in a hospital. The person reading the blessing holds the relic of the Sacred Cross or medal of St. Benedict in his/her right hand and begins by praying three Our Fathers, Hail Marys, and Glory Be's. Then the ritual begins:

*   *   *

V. Benediction, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, honor, and power and strength to our God forever and ever. R. Amen.

V. My foot has stood in the direct way.

R. In the churches I will bless you O Lord.

*   *   *

Through the invocation of the Most Holy Name of the Lord may that faith, in which St. Maur by employing the words that follow, healed the sick and which I though an unworthy sinner, utter the selfsame words, restore your health as you desire.

In the name of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity, and supported by the merits of the Most Holy Father St. Benedict, I bid you (
name of person or group of people
) to rise, stand upon your feet and be cured in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Spirit (†). Amen.

Antiphon: Surely He has borne our infirmities and carried our sorrows, by his bruises we are healed.

V. He that forgives the iniquities of men.

R. May he heal your infirmities.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry come unto you.

V. The Lord be with you.

R. And with your spirit.

Let Us Pray

O God the Creator of all things, who willed that Your only Son should take flesh of the Virgin Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit for the restoration of mankind and didst deign to heal the wounds and infirmities of our souls by the redemption accomplished upon the sacred and glorious wood of the life-giving Cross; do then also vouchsafe through this powerful sign to restore health to this Your servant (
name
) or servants. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let Us Pray

Lord Jesus Christ, who conferred upon my teacher, Blessed Benedict, the privilege of obtaining from You whatsoever he might ask in Your Name; vouchsafe, through his intercession to heal all the infirmities of this your servant, in order that being restored to health (he or she) may give thanks to Your Holy Name, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessing

Through the invocation of the Immaculate Mother of God and ever Virgin Mary, and the intercession of Saints Joseph, Benedict and Maur: May the power (†) of God the Father, the wisdom (†) of God the Son, and the strength (†) of the Holy Ghost free thee from thy infirmities. Amen. May God's holy will be done, and may it be done unto you as you wish and pray, for the praise and honor of the Most Holy Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(The sick person is now blessed with the relic of the Cross or medal of St. Benedict, while the following words are said):

Blessing

May the blessing of Almighty God, of the Father and of the Son (†) and of the Holy Ghost descend upon thee and abide with thee forever. Amen.

(The person or persons then individually kiss the relic or medal. The blessing of St. Maur is now completed.)

APPENDIX II:

THE ROSARY

The rosary is a devotional prayer to the Virgin Mary, who is the mother of Jesus Christ. Many people neglect to honor her, but Jesus wishes for us to seek His mother. She deserves our devotion for this reason. She gave birth to Jesus, raised Him, and then watched at the foot of the cross when He died. Jesus gave His mother to us while He was suffering on that cross.
