“I’ll clean her up,” stated Callen, taking the waiting washcloth from the midwife. They were all a mess, but this was part of the miracle of life. They were going to share in it.

“We make some damn cute kids,” Ethan stated.

Elizabeth stared at him. “Really? Do you hear the mouth on CJ? We have to try hard with Charlie. She looks like me. Do you want my clone running around throwing down profanity?”

He absolutely did.

Callen began laughing. “We’re screwed. It’s out there in the universe.”

She pointed at the baby, and he continued wiping the goo from their little girl. That’s when he saw something.

“What’s on her hand?”

They all looked down as he wiped away the blood.

Whatever it was, it wasn’t going away.

Then, it registered.

It was a birthmark, but not just any one.

This red splotch was exactly the same as the one Ethan and Callen remembered seeing on their grandmother’s hand. Elizabeth recognized it too from a dream.

This was a sign from above.

She had her answer from Timothy. It was a tough birth, but he was watching over them.

“Granddad approves,” she said, kissing her little girl on the tip of her nose. “You were sent by an angel,” she said, her eyes filling with tears. “A stubborn old man who could have made your birth so much easier on his favorite grandchild.”

Ethan laughed as he kissed his wife.

Callen was next.

“You’re going to do great things, Charlie Samantha Blackhawk. There’s no doubt in my mind,” Ethan said, kissing his daughter.

“I love you, Charlie,” Callen offered.

This child meant the world to all of them.

Ethan Blackhawk had his second chance at life. Callen Whitefox had one more part of his woman that he could love for the rest of eternity.

And Elizabeth…she had the opportunity to be a mother once more. To her, it was the greatest journey she’s ever taken, and she couldn’t wait to watch Charlie grow.

“Are you ready for the family to meet her?” Ethan asked, cuddling his girls.

She smiled. “Yeah, I think I am. Send in the chaos and mayhem. Charlie is about to get her initiation.”

With that, the free-for-all began.

“Welcome to the world, Charlie Blackhawk. It’s going to be one hell of a bitchin’ ride. Make your momma proud.”

Meanwhile ……..

This was the idyllic place to find the perfect specimen. Where else could there be such a vast variety of victims?

They didn't want them for love.

No, there was something so much more behind this.

These dead had a special purpose.

While they wandered the hallowed halls of the university by day, at night they were prey.

Each one had a destiny that they didn't know about. It was written in the stars.

They were born to come here.

Destined to pick this campus.

Chosen to live on forever.

It was that simple gift from killer to long suffering victim that meant so much.

A gift was a gift.

No matter the cost or gore.

As she lay on the flat table, so much pleasure was taken from stealing her life. In the darkness of the room, a few words were whispered to send her on her way into the afterlife.

When she was gone, it began.

“From you, I’ll take your heart.”

The knife was inserted into her flesh, slicing haphazardly into the woman.

“You don’t know how amazing a gift this is. You gave your life, Felicity. It won’t be forgotten.”

When the brutal carving was done, the heart was dumped into a silver bowl. It slid sickly in the blood, pumping no more.

“Now, what do we do with you?”

Of course, there was no answer.

The killer contemplated taking more. Maybe the heart shouldn’t be the only organ that went.

Then again, why be greedy?

There would be more women.

More killing.

More death.

No, this would be her only gift. The next woman would have the same luxury of making the ultimate sacrifice.

“It’s time to get rid of you.”

With that, she was rolled up, bound tightly, and ready for transport.

The killer cleaned the tools and put them away.

“I knew you were the one the minute I saw you on campus. I’m sorry that you wandered into that fraternity. It was your downfall, Felicity.”

The woman heard nothing.

She was gone to the world.

“I hope the next one will be as easy. Hopefully, she too will be
